Cihu Sculpture Memorial Park @ Dashi Taoyuan

The Cihu Sculpture Memorial Park was planned and established in 1997 by the Daxi Town Hall. It is the only memorial garden in the world dedicated to sculptures of a single person, in this case Jiang Jie-shi. On February 29, 2000, the Kaohsiung County government held a ceremony for the removal and donation of the first bronze sculpture of Jiang. As of November 2008, there are a total of 152 sculptures of Jiang in the park in full figure, bust, seated, and standing forms as well as riding a horse. There are illustrative signs set in front of the park so that visitors can clearly understand their backgrounds. And if you look carefully, maybe you can find someone even greater than Jiang Jie-shi in the park!

Among the statues are familiar-looking standing and half-bust bronze statues, which were donated mostly by schools and government organizations. There are also statues of CKS seated and horse-riding. Every statue has its own artistic value. Interconnected foot trails lead to various statues in the park. There are also elegant Chinese garden-style gardens with bridges and water below them.
